The operational systems work and are old. Data sits in formats chosen for a different era, field teams work offline by necessity, and anything new has to interoperate rather than replace.
How we would approach it
We would build for intermittent connectivity from the start — offline-capable field tooling that reconciles when it reconnects — and put a modern interface over the systems of record without asking anyone to migrate first. Offline-first sync and geofenced field check-in are patterns we already run in production.
